Today we're going to reveal a bit more up our skirts here at Gun Media and IllFonic about our actual DLC plans for the game, beyond what you've already been informed. While dates are tentative, this should give you all an idea of what is currently in the works/on the docket for Friday the 13th: The Game at this time.We have some news from IllFonic for you regarding timelines and single player:Hey everyone,I know we have been pretty quiet in terms of the Xbox not getting patches or being delayed but it is really because there happens to be no good answer we can give the community that fixes the problem with delays. The reality is that, as of right now, the cert process on Xbox takes the longest of the platforms and if something happens it starts the process over again. Here is a timeline of the last month and where we are now...Through most of August we were dealing with the Memory Leak issue that was causing Xbox players to crash consistently. It took weeks to track down the issue and took a majority of our engineering resources. We also got engineering support from outside sources as well. By mid-end of August we were able to go into cert with the memory leak fixed but ended up failing because of lobby issues and a few other crashes/stability. While it was far more stable that the July patch, the right call was to fix the issues. At the end of August we released the patch that is currently live on Xbox. We got a ton of great feedback and were able to resolve a number of bugs quickly which we were then able to roll out on PS4 and PC but ended up getting blocked on Xbox. I know you are not going to like this answer but the patch was blocked by the Disc Build that was going through cert. Aside from time, for Xbox, we can only have one thing in cert at a time so we had to wait for it to clear. Disc cert was a little different as well, we had to first submit the exclusive DLC content in one cert and then the disc version that had the game and DLC as a bundle in a subsequent cert. There were no failures in cert but we did bottleneck ourselves with multiple back-to-back certifications for a couple of weeks. So as of today, we are clear and finalizing the next patch internally which I posted about here along with a couple of notes on issues we have addressed: http://forum.f13game.com/index.php?/topic/10636-state-of-the-camp-sept-7th-2017/Again, there is nothing we can do about the cert process but right now we are moving forward with bug fixing rolling at ASAP on any platform but new content coming out together on all three platforms. This is still tough to do but this is what we are going to attempt. That being said;Let’s talk about single player. Currently we are behind on the Summer date. There are number of reasons why this is, but it all boils down to making sure we are not releasing new content while still having issues with the core game. There were a number of issues we needed to address with the games stability prior to committing additional resources to making Single Player happen. We now feel we have turned that corner and have doubled down on Single Player to try and catch up.We have hired additional people, are working with contractors and even diverted others working on other tasks to help. We have also decided to take a look at Single Player and we are breaking it into a number of different experiences that can be released independent of one another. This way as soon as one thing is done we can launch it without having to wait on everything else.I also want to address the misconception that certain content we launch affects single player. It doesn't. An artist working on outfits is not the same person that is programming AI. The designer setting up scripted events for single player is not making the new Jason models. What does impact Single Player are the bugs and stability issues; that AI programmer may have to shift to fixing a bug occasionally. The designer may have to shift to fix balance or gameplay bugs on maps. This is why we are delayed. We made the decision to fix rather than add new stuff which again, is what caused the delay.-Gertz. Patch 1.02 - XP/Perks/Save Data Fixes, exploits removed, etc. !!!Important!!! WE ARE LIVE: Posted this build last night round 1:30AM EST a couple days ago but we've been monitoring to ensure stability. Seems things are on the right track. Nothing changed with notes, so here ya go!To optimize the database further, we have moved character profiles to the save file system, persisting in the cloud instead. However, this means that:- Counselor Perk and Clothing selections will have to be assigned again.- Jason grab kill selections will have to be assigned again. You still have everything you had before, it's just storing your per-character settings in a different spot now.Improvements- Added a Random option in the lobby.- Turned intro volume down.- Increased effectiveness of Jason and Counselor spawn preference options. Shuffling the possible Jason list 3x as much to help randomness.- Disabled inhale sound effect for breathing while in a hiding spot.- Made dead body stingers less obnoxious: Ignored while being pursued by Jason; 10s cooldown; Will not fire for witnessed nearby deaths.Fixes- Fixed issue where you have infinite stamina.- Fixed a few areas where the player couldn't reach with Jason. Also fixed a stuck spot on Packanack.- Fixed perk roller UI sometimes getting stuck if there is an error talking to the database.- Fixed session heartbeat requests to be more resilient to service failures.- Fixed some bugs with incremental Steam stats achievements. NOTE: These do not always update while the game client is open, sometimes taking until you exit the game before Steam shows progress.- Fixed character hair stretching at lower frame rate.- Fixed inverted mouse look and mouse sensitivity options not working on the input settings UI.- Fixed Jason not always aborting the knife throw when stunned.- Fixed a case where it was possible to get stuck in a knife throw.- Fixed some visibility issues with the door interaction icons.- Fixed some placement issues with dropped items.- Fixed Jason's mask floating when knocked off.- Fixed Jason not always cancelling shift or morph if they hit a car in reverse.- Fixed an issue with the hiding spot exit code.- Fixed Counselors potentially getting stuck inside of a wall if hit while climbing through a window at the perfect time.- Fixed Rotate Minimap With Player not updating when changed until a map change.- Fixed some server specific crashes.- Fixed people being able to share settings save games. If you are having issues on connecting; go to your "C:\Users\youaccountname\AppData\Local\SummerCamp\Saved\SaveGames" and remove all the files inside or move them, this fixed it for me. (Enable Hidden Folders). Post E3 2016 Update - Slasher Backer Ends, Get Virtual Cabin!: Digital Cabin Releasing Next Week on June 30th!Ok, this is something we've been working towards. We really want to bring our backers and Friday the 13th fans along for the ride, and do so in an interactive way. We'll be kicking off the Digital Camp Crystal Lake Cabin Retreat and Interactive Dev Diary on June 30th, codes will be sent out to all who have added it on to their KS pledge or picked it up from the Slasher Backer store. All pre-orders are currently being placed here: https://friday-the-13th-the-game.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders With this being the initial release, it won't be as expansive as it's planned to be, but as we've stated, we have an update schedule to continue to grow it over the next few months. We'll be adding more rooms, more game models as they are completed, and much, much more! You'll be able to walk around the cabin in full 3D and check out assets from the game, see the details the artists have added and listen to the radio for tracks from the game soundtrack as well as behind the scenes audio tracks with the dev team discussing the game.Take a gander at these screenshots below to get your first taste of the Virtual Cabin! Pick it up if you don't have it already!Slasher Backer Ends in Two Weeks! While out at E3 we hit and flew past another stretch goal! You all unlocked "Triple Death" and helped cover a nice chunk of the next goal too! We're now well on the way to hitting the next goal to bring Tommy Jarvis back to Camp Crystal Lake!** IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT (PLEASE READ) **In two weeks we will be charging cards for the first time for all Slasher Backer pre-orders. Please update your cards and add-on any additional items before Friday July 8th. Our Stretch Goal Chart was modified a bit. We removed a large goal that was no longer applicable (Twitch API Integration) and we're giving a kill to you all (Knock Your Block Off) from Part 8.General NewsProject UpdateWe're back from E3 and have all mostly recouped from the hectic nature of the biggest industry show on this side of the world.Ready to roll? Let's start with an update on what the team has been working on.This Week:Design – Place items as they get implemented from Engineering in the Higgins Level, do some functionality tests on the Higgins level to make sure the current gameplay systems are working as intended, write up any proposed feature changes and discuss with leads.Engineering – Finish set up on the Virtual Cabin Application and support Art team, implement radio song selection for the Living Room, update interaction system for the game to be more flexible (this affects item pickups, doors, windows, etc), begin creating items (Flare/Firecracker/First Aid), clean up context kill interaction system to be more generic and modular (this will save us time later when we're adding a lot more kills)Art - Polish up the Virtual Cabin Living Room, begin polishing the rest of Higgins Haven level (start set dressing campsites and adding vegetation), updates on Head Counselor and Flirty Girl.Animation – Counselor Combat Animations (weapon swings, dodges, combat locomotion), discuss options for adjusting player locomotion speeds.. Patch Notes - 1.29.19: Patch Notes - Friday the 13th: The Game - January 2019 Patch. PATCH IS LIVE - Notes and Updates - BUILD 2686: Hey all; the patch is live. Please restart your Steam Client. This is our first major fix/improvement patch and we are working on stability. Other fixes are coming, but the most immediate issues have been addressed. You should see better quickplay. As for those who have 'Database Login Failure'/'Saving Profile Data' - That is a backend issue for servers. We are incrementally working on that. It is separate from the patch and will be disappearing as we work account to account. This one takes some time, but everyone will eventually have that issue removed for the population that still has it. Also note for backers: DLC is still on hold due to waiting for Steam. We have been waiting for a response for some time now and we won't be able to do anything until we get word. Apologies, but we're messaging as best we can :/ More work, but the fixes are starting to come online!PATCH NOTES-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Improvements- Numerous optimizations to Quick Play: Search less, be discovered more; request a smaller sample size when searching to ping fewer results, so the scan to join turn-around is quicker. Will reduce contention issues.- EasyAntiCheat now verifies content has not been tampered with to prevent content modification cheating methods.- Reduced the amount of time the QuickPlay lobby timer "bumps" when someone connects or joins to 30s instead of 90 and 45s respectively.- Drop the lobby timer to 30s instead of 60s when it gets full.Fixes- Fixed party members not always following their leader when matchmaking into dedicated servers.- Fixed a matchmaking slicing issue causing potentially good servers to be ignored/discarded.- Fixed a UE4 bug with causing the game to freeze when unplugging headphones.- Fixed Push To Talk not turning off when a gamepad is in use instead of a KB/mouse.- Fixed the idle timer not properly bumping while spectating. Also bumping it before spawning as Tommy to fix a potential idle kick when that happens.- Fixed some foot sliding when using the flare gun or shotgun.- Disabled VR plugins to fix dialogs prompting to use them.- Fixed players getting the Public Health achievement for healing themselves.- Fixed stats that are not associated with a leaderboard not always updating on Steam.- Fixed a permanent black screen on systems that do not support the intro videos correctly. Working on finding out why that occurs on some systems, newer UE4 feature.- Fixed the intro/outro videos not being sound grouped. Effects volume now affects them.- Fixed several dedicated and listen server specific crashes.
